Mexican descent Tony Ferguson (15-3) will have a shot to shine as he faces fellow Latino, Danny Castillo (17-6) in the co-main event of the UFC 177.
Both will compete this Saturday in Sacaremento, California on pay-per-view.
Castillo and Ferguson were set to fight back in August 2, but the event was cancelled. For Ferguson, th cancellation was a blessing, who fights in the lightweight division.
“When I found out, I was frustrated but it gave me time to improve my strategy,” he said. I listened to my trainers and I adjusted my camp.”
Ferguson has one two fights in a row with the latest win coming back in May.
While CaStillo last won in April. Ferguson trains in Oxford, California with his own camp. Castillo trains right in Sacramento with Tram Alpha Male.
“We are both wrestlers and we are going to clash,” he said on The Roman Show.
He has wrestled since he was 5 year old and he said he has a passion for challenging.
“I have a plan,” he said. I am going guarantee it. I am Mexican and I am going to do the right things and finish the fight.”
He said he is proud of his Hispanic background.
“I am going to fight for my people,” he said. ” I want the people to know that I should be taken seriously in the lightweight division.”
