Tecia Torres Talks about Rose and potential title shot

Training for undefeated fighter Tecia Torres (7-0) upcoming fight has been different compared to previous competition.

Torres not only needs to train her body, but her mind too as she is currently studying to obtain her masters in criminology.

Torres, who has Puerto Rican blood and trains at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, told The Roman Show but thanks time management for keeping her afloat. She meets Rose Namajunas (4-2) in a rematch part of the UFC on Fox fight card airing on this Saturday on Fox at 8 p.m. The fight card takes place in Tampa’s Amalie Arena.

“I’ve been in full mode with fight camp and as a graduate student this year,” she said. “I am juggling it through it. Monday though Wednesday I am in the gym twice then I have school at night. Those days are hard. The other days are training and writing essays. Time management has been key.”

Both met in Invicta FC in a unanimous decision victory for Torres. Both Namajunas and Torres were part of the reality show, The Ultimate Fighter.

Torres said her opponent has evolved since their last meeting. Namajunas defeated her last opponent Paige VanZant in December by submission.

“She looks great,” she said. “It was a one sided fight. She dominated Paige. Going into our fight its not going to be easy. I have different qualities than Paige. I think me and Rose match up well. Are styles are different she’s well rounded on the ground, but am better as a striker.”

She also talks about the upcoming fight between UFC straw weight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk versus Claudia Gadelha.
