Russell Doane (13-3) made his debut at the beginning of this year, now the Hawaiian will make an appearance for the first time on the main fight card of UFC 175.
In an interview with The Roman Show, Doane will battle the returning Marcus Brimage (6-2), who comes back to the octagon after an injury, July 5 on Pay-per-view.

Doane said he is focused, but took a look back at his debut, which he won via submission.
“Of course,” he said. “It was something you’ve worked for so hard. I didn’t want to mess it up. I wanted put on a good show.”
He said he felt euphoric.
“I got really excited not nervous,” he said. “The first round I couldn’t stay calm. It worked out in the end.”
Doane says he has respect for Brimage.
“He’s a great fighter,” he said. “He is coming down. I think he is going to be in good shape. Hes coming back and he wants to put on a good show. “
His goal is to excite the fans.
“You want to be excited,” he said. “If you’re not exciting they aren’t going to put you on the main card. If you want to be a name you don’t only have to win you have to do it in dominate fashion.”
He also talked about the mma scene in Hawaii, how he stared and future hall of famer BJ Penn.
