Reality star and mixed martial arts fighter Ricky “El Gallero” Palacios (5-1) is stepping in the cage in search of his third win in a row on Combate America’s fight card airing on NBC Universo, December 16.
Palacios faces Anthony Paredes (3-2) on the fight card, but before the Mexican-American hits the cage he took practiced the sport of cock fighting.
“Growing up Mexican, I was active in that sport when it was legal,” he said in an interview with The Roman Show. “I was born into that sport. There’s many people in Mexico that do it a lot. I was raised by it. I don’t do it anymore. I am a grown man. I don t have time for that. I have a family and I am building a foundation.
He discussed how the animals have the killer instinct naturally.
“They are born to kill themselves,” he said. “It’s in their nature; it’s not anything that anyone can do. I support it? Yeah. I don’t support dog fighting.”
He said he would raise the animals.
“You raise them. They are very territorial,” he said. “It’s in their nature. You don’t have to do anything to them.”
Moving forward, Palacios said he is coming off a win by head kick, which exited him. Palacios says he has a lot more weapons he hasn’t displayed.
“I was excited,” he said. “I got kicks. I have many things in my arsenal. I like to use my hands. I throw the kicks sparring. I threw it and I hit him right on the button. I haven’t displayed all of my talents.
