UFC fighter Ricardo Lamas has found new motivation to training thanks to his newborn child.
Lamas joined The Roman Show prior to squaring off with Diego Sanchez in Mexico part of the upcoming UFC Fight Night card, which airs on Fox Sports 1 November 21.
“Father life is great,” he said. “It gives me a new motivation now. I have a family to provide for now. I feel like I am a more dangerous opponent now more than ever.”
He credits his wife for us also lending a hand.
“Luckily my wife takes care of the baby, while I am at the gym. She does a lot for him. I try to do what I can being exhausted,” he said. “I have the night shift in the middle of the night to feed him. But I give credit to my wife to taking care of him.”
He later added,”I would cut my wrist for him. When I don’t want to be in the gym I think of him and he gives me motivation.”

Lamas also talked about his next foe, Sanchez.
“He likes to put on a good show for the fans,” he said. “He is always to stand in front of you. I have to make sure not to get in a street fight like he likes. I need to be faster and smarter than him.”
