Buckcherry’s vocalist Josh Todd says the band’s new album is the best product the group has produced and that’s thanks to passion.
The band will drop their ninth album Hellbound June 25. The group is also set to take on a massive tour.
Todd spoke to The Roman Show on this week’s episode.
“We had to focus on something creative because as you know living in the United States with the pandemic going, riots, racism and it was chaotic, gun violence,” he said.
He later added, “Whenever there is adversity this band writes its best record. I have to say Hellbound has gotta be the best album. It’s amazing. I am not just saying it. We really worked hard on it. We channeled that energy to writing songs. “
TONS OF MUSIC
Creativity flooded the group’s minds.
“We wrote about 30 songs for a ten song album,” he said. “I think some are good to make a record maybe two or three. Sometimes songs just aren’t good enough to be on a record. We don’t want to just put in fillers.”
One hundred shows are being planned for this year so far. Todd said that plans were to visit areas like Russia but Covid-19 put the plans to rest.
“So Hot”, the latest single is picking up steam and has been raking in large numbers in listenership.
“So Hot is fun on stage,” he said. “The title song Hellbound is so good. It is one my favorite rock song. Wasting No More Time is like Tom Petty feel. It’ll come out later in the year.”
