Frankie Perez’s (9-2) first shot at the UFC didn’t go his way, but he promises a different performance against a veteran in need of a win.
Perez fights Canadian Sam Stout (20-11-1) in the UFC Fight Night 74 fight card, which will air on Fox Sports August 23.

The New Jersey born wrestler told The Roman Show that he will see the best Sam Stout ever.
“I am expecting the best Sam Stout there is,” he said on The Roman Show. “He has the most pressure. UFC cuts guys like there’s no tomorrow. I prepared for the best Sam Stout.”
Perez’s first outing led to a TKO loss by he hands of Jonny Case, but he says his mind wasn’t in the fight.
“It’s night and day the first time I was going through personal issue,” he said. “But when the big show calls you have to go. Mentally I wasn’t there. This time you’ll see a different Frankie Perez on August 23. But I have nothing to take away form Johnny Case.”
He later added: “I had no nerves,” he said. “Everything went super fast. The nerves never hit. It was more surreal than anything. My dad in the crowd got to me emotionally. I felt an adrenaline dump in the back. Other than that I was there as a body. This time I feel sharper. It’s a different ball game.”
