Miami, Fl –  Life can create setbacks when pursuing a goal, but in his book “One man’s journey from gridiron to gavel warrior judge” Super Bowl Champion and former Miami Dolphin offensive guard Ed Newman speaks on overcoming all those factors.

The new book dropped recently and Newman will be at this year’s Miami Book Fair, which starts November 17.

He spoke to The Roman Show about his book on this week’s episode.

“I had excellent coaches. And very competitive arenas very early on and a had pressing parents who made sure academics was the way to go. They insisted on it. I got into Duke University, and I did well there. We traveled up the timeline then the next thing you know am with the perfect season and the Miami Dolphins,” he said.

He later added, “There were many obstacles to overcome, and I talk about how I Overcome it. it comes down to grit. You have got to meet your adversaries and work through the hardships. I had knee injuries, hamstring pulls, and thyroid cancer in my second year when I played for the Dolphins. I had an odyssey,” he said.

The pro bowler found time after spending time on the field to head to the University of Miami campus to study law proving anything can come to life if one puts their mind into it.

He also gave home to the Miami Dolphins’ fans.

“You talk about the Miami fans asking for glory days and we had glory days. There were 10,000 fans when we came home from the away games. They almost broke the stadium with their feet pounding and we were happy to return the favor. There is a little bit of taking some direction in your life in my book,” he said.
