Monsters will duke it in Ybor City, Florida at the Kaiju Big Battel.
Giant monsters, people wearing out of this world monster costumes, will be wrestling inside the squared circle is the Kaiju Big Battle comes to the sunshine state before visiting New Orleans during the Wrestlemania weekend.
Mark Dundee of Kaiju Big Battle said prepare for a war.
“It’s a conflict between good and evil. Its real monsters. Our tagline ‘monsters are real and danger’. We have been around since the early 90s, about 1994,” he said. “It’s a concept between good and evil. We the city a whole bunch of devastation throughout the cities within the confines of a ring with monsters such us a giant a waffle named French Toast, unicorn party…”
Kaiju is a Japanese film genre that features giant monsters usually attacking major cities and engaging the military and other monsters in battle. Think, Godzilla! The whole event is a parody of wrestling and the Japanese films.
Rand Borden created the concept in Massachusetts and has had a strong following since. It is also appreciated by the Japanese.
“The Japanese culture love it,” he said. “Japanese wrestler Kato Ibushi worked with us a couple Wrestlemania’s ago and became our hashtag champion and he loved. I know him and other friends of him would like to be a part of it.”
