Two division GLORY champion Alex Pereira defeated his knocked out his opponent to earn a second title for the promotion.
At the recent GLORY 68 Miami, he viciously defeated Donegi Abena with a nasty left hook for the knockout making him the interim light heavyweight champion in his debut in the weight class. The knockout could be a potential knockout of the year. He already holds the middleweight strap. The current lightweight champion is Artem Vakhitov.
Pereira is the only man to knockout UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. He also has a decision victory of Adesanya all in kickboxing.

He said he felt comfortable in the new weight class.
“I felt no difference at all to be honest,” he said. “I think he was weaker because he had to make the weight and I didn’t. I felt stronger than him.”

The Brazlian said he doesn’t have a preference as to what weight class he would like to compete in. He is willing where GLORY offers a fight.
In the crowd, Tyrone Spong who competed in mixed martial arts and GLORY was in attendance. Knowing his track history, we asked if the newly crowned champion would be interested in fighting Spong.
“I didn’t think of the possibility,” he said.
Spong has said he is done with kickboxing and would venture of other challenges.
No word on when the two-divisional champion will compete again.
