Unlike the hottest trend in metal, metalcore, there is still a lot of 80’s rock fans asking for new music.
Hence, Striker is just one of the few bands playing fresh new cuts with an 80’s rock tune.
The Canadian band is about to hit the road with the tour kicking off in Florida. Seven Kingdoms and Beast In Black will also be part of the bill.
Death Wish is the latest track from the band. Tim Brown of the band joined The Roman Show.
“We’ve been trying to do some creative writing in terms of lyrics,” he said. “We have been a band that was not too interested in lyrics and then we said that’s a part of music people like, so we decided to focus more on it.”
Furthermore, he said “We tried to focus on making our lyrics interesting and different layers.”
When asked how a band playing 80’s music keep going strong, Brown said it is all about love for the music.
“Music is a labor of love,” he said. “Any of the other considerations are out the window these days if you want to get famous be an influencer on tik-tok or whatever. You’ll get more famous. To get into music is for the love of the music. That’s why we have been doing it.”
But Deathwish is just the single of more hits to come.
“Our band worked on new stuff then we wanted to take a break and let the covid depression sink in. We did record an ep we have a bunch of new songs. We will have more out by the time we are in Florida. We haver heavier stuff coming your way,” he said.
