When the Colombian Elder “El Psycho” Ramos (8-6) enters the cage, his opponent is not just another fighter, but an enemy from the past.
“Every time I step inside the cage, I always think of my brothers,” he said. “I used mixed martial arts to release my frustration. Before it was wrestling, now it’s mma. I pray before the fight and I talk to my brothers a lot.”
Ramos, 30, faces Bellator veteran Derrick “DK” Kennington (7-6) as part of the Strike Off Fighting Championships 4 which will be live on iPPV starting at 5 p.m. EST. Feb. 28.

Ramos had three brothers killed in his home country back in the 90’s when the South American land faced a violent period.
“My brothers were involved with illegal activity,” he said. “There was a thin middle class. People struggle. When they were younger, college wasn’t an option. Based on that they did other things like drugs and it cost them their life.”
Ramos arrived to the United States with hopes of having a better life. Here, he got in trouble in school and that’s when school staff member advised him to join the wrestling team. He fell in love with the sport and the rest is history.
“I didn’t want to follow the footsteps of my family members,” he said.
Ramos also touches about his opponent, training and dreams.
