For mixed martial artist Dilano Taylor, numbers don’t make a difference.
On Friday, Taylor (4-1) battles Lewis “Lethal” Gonzalez (11-3) at the upcoming Titan FC fight card live on UFC Fight Pass from the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami, Fl.
JUST AN OPPONENT
This week, The Roman Show spoke to Taylor about his upcoming sixth professional fight.
“If we are considering the numbers, he is the toughest opponent, but I am not fighting numbers am fighting a person,” he said.
RING RUST
Gonzalez has not fought since 2016; he suffered a TKO defeat by Bobby Nash.
Last month, Taylor defeated submitted by Michael Cora.
“I think it can play a role,” said Taylor of his opponent being idle.
WHAT’S IN THE NICKNAME
Taylor opened up about how he came up with his nickname. He said he was being compared to Jon Jones, but he wanted to stay away from the comparison.
“The reason I came up with The Postman is to deliver.
Moreover, he said “The second I want to send a message to everyone. It doesn’t matter what situation you are in. how much you are struggling or how you feel everything is temporary.”
Furthermore, he credits mixed marital arts for saving his life.
“I am grateful for MMA and what it has put on my life,” said Taylor, who wrestled in high school. “MMA has made me a better individual.”
Taylor knows a victory of his foe can get him closer to the next level ,but for now he is focused on his opponent.
