Tickets are on sale, here. Whitney said he is coming into the fight with a positive outlook.
“It’s another step getting closer to my dream,” he said. “I don’t know if I am chasing the same dream I used to take, but I want to make a little bit of more money so I can support my family better not having to struggle with bills. It is a door opener. Jason is a tough guy. A lot of guys that are 15-0 they really haven’t been tested yet. I am sure he has had tough competition, but a lot of these guys weave in the competition. I haven’t had the luxury to fight the easy guys. I fought the guys that were ranked fifth in the UFC.
The Hardknocks fighter is coming of a lost against Steve Garcia via TKO back in May. He feels “blessed” to get this opportunity to fight Soares for the belt.
“I had a lot of things going on. I am thankful that CEO Jeff (Aronson) and COO Lex McMahon allowed me to compete for this title,” he said.
He feels that this fight will be a treat for the fans.
“I thought beating a lot of guys would put me in the UFC,” he said. “You can’t really let it bother you. I have gotten away from putting pressure to getting myself in the UFC. Pressure makes better fights. He is going to come out to destroy me and I am going to the same. “
